I have no idea why I did not see this feedback in reviews. The Zenus bedframe was NOT compatible with two different headboards from two common retailers: Wayfair and Target. I am giving 2 stars because I am pleased with the quality if it could have been secured to my headboards. The slots in the brackets of the Zenus bed frame do not allow the bolts for the Wayfair nor Target headboards to pass through. As a result you cannot screw the bedframe into the headboard. The slots in the Zenus bracket are too narrow for the gauge of the bolts that come with either headboard (see photos). I was shocked this universal/standard size. I have smaller gauge bolts around the house that will pass through the slots of Zenus bracket fine, however that is useless because a skinnier bolt won't screw into the predrilled holes in the headboard (obviously if the bolts are too skinny it just spins inside the headboard holes). So bottom line, this bedframe is not universally compatible. I have no idea why I did not see this in any reviews before purchasing. On the positive, it was very easy to put together and came with a nifty ratchet (photo). Overall disappointing product. Update: I secured the headboards to the studs (which I planned to do anyways). Then to attach the bedframe I used washers and drywall screws. I drilled new pilot holes in the bedframe. Slipped the washer on my screw (so it wouldn’t stop through the Zenus bracket) and drilled the screws into my headboard legs. It worked out fine but definitely shouldn’t have needed to do that.
