I bought this generator to replace my Yamaha 3000 that I had for years with no problems. The main reason for purchasing this over the Yamaha was the price which was almost half as much, and weight. The db rating is comparable also. When I received the generator and started it up, it started just fine and then I turned it off and tried the remote start which I was looking forward to having but it wouldn't start. Called the 800 number and found out it has a carburetor issue which has to do with the electronic choke. They told me I could take to a repair facility. Instead of driving 45 miles I called first and I was told that it probably needed a high altitude carb kit which Westinghouse didn't have. Called back to the 800 number and all they told me was that they should be able to fix it. after later internet searches about the issue I got the same answers "they DONT have a fix for the problem". So the electronic and remote start are useless because you have to have the side panel off and when you hit the start button you slide the choke open! Do not purchase until they have a fix on their website!!
