If Fenugreek doesn't smell, or taste, mildly like Maple Syrup, don't consume it. Without a lab you never know.
Good price, but then I started noticing a strong chemical aftertaste when taking. I have used Fenugreek for over 20 years, and only had one other brand have the same issue. Fenugreek should taste and smell like Maple Syrup, and shortly after starting, it will cause a Maple Syrup odor. This brand, at least the bottle I received, smells like a cross between jet fuel and Methyl-Ethyl Ketone, with a dash of Acetone to top it off. I wrote to the last brand when I had a problem and recommended they check quality control. I now make the same recommendations to Nutricost. The last company didn't want the unused portion back, and they were never heard from after that. I will never buy that brand again.(NW) I am willing to send this back to Nutricost, as it has made me physically ill, in order to prevent it from happening to anyone else. This could be doubly dangerous for women breastfeeding infants.
