Here's the deal...this towel stand has been raved about by reviewers on PBS food shows, product sites and Amazon as the nonpareil of towel stands. I had great expectations when I purchased one on 10/15/17 on Amazon. I used it for 2 months and 4 days...until yesterday...until the plastic coupling that connects the tension bar to the spring just snapped off while pulling out a single sheet of Bounty paper towel. Other 1-star reviewers have reported precisely the same problem. Until that moment I was, relative to its decidedly minor importance in the larger universal order of things, in love with this thing. So what's the remedy? Well I'm going to try get a free replacement. But, if no recourse avails, here's the catch: I'll probably buy another, because when it works it's better than any other such item I've owned over the past 40 years. ...and I did so and have not been disappointed since the original snafu 3 years ago.
