★★☆☆☆
Would strongly recommend you spend more money and get something much much better.
This humidifier is wonderful if you want something inexpensive that will work in a small room. But it has so many drawbacks, it's worth spending more for better quality. In my case, I've had this humidifier for a little less than a year, and I just ordered a Honeywell Cool Moisture Germ-Free Humidifiier at almost twice the price to replace it.
The MistAire only holds about a gallon of water, enough to last maybe two nights as long as it doesn't run longer than 8 hours per night. It does not have any filtration system at all, so you'll need to regularly clean any pictures, mirrors, etc. in your room, as they'll become spotted and dingy. You need to have a board of some kind under it (I used a chopping board I got as part of a set) to prevent it from damaging the surface of your furniture. And it gets filthy within months, with no way to effectively clean it.
Here's the part that really gets on my nerves. Other reviewers talk about how easy it is to keep it clean. You just need to empty the remaining water out of it every single day, let it dry out thoroughly, then fill it up again. Each week, you need to wash it in vinegar. Easy as pie, right?
I don't want to put that much effort into a cheap humidifier that only works in small rooms (and you need to close the door), spots your pictures and furniture, and doesn't even filter the water so it's clean moisture it's pumping out into the atmosphere. It can't be healthy breathing that stuff if it leaves spots on things and the interior keeps getting darker and darker with mold or fungus or whatever it is inside that can't be cleaned. Seriously, why would they at least have a way of detaching the bottom of the container holding the water so you could scrub it clean every month or so?
The humidifier I'm getting holds twice as much water, has a filtration system to keep the moisture as clean and pure as possible, is dishwasher safe, and has an opening big enough to fit your hand in so you can wash it by hand if you want (and I want).
The MistAire was a necessary step towards realizing that I needed to put a little more money into buying something much better, so I don't regret buying it, but I would not recommend it to anyone.
