★★☆☆☆
This is not a running shoe.
I agree with the other reviewers who commented this is not a true "running". It is incredibly light, which is nice, but what is sacrificed is cushion and stability. Have used the 940V series for years, but wanted to try less expensive....you get what you pay for. The shoe size does run small as others have commented and I had to return my first order of 11.5 4E for a 12 2E. I am a low mileage, 10 miles/wk, 67 yr old jogger. The 680's were quickly wearing at 4 weeks. Maybe good for short interval training, but not for any distance training. No more running for me with these shoes: will use for casual wear. FYI: I was informed later about New Balance's number codes for their shoes. The first number represents cushioning: ie 940 more than 680. (I believe the 1040s have the most cushioning) The next 2 numbers reflect stability, but in reverse order: 40 has more stability than 80. (Ask New Balance about that system.) My knees and feet need the 940 or better.
