I'm returning this cover tomorrow. I just got it yesterday. My K3 was working fine until I put it into the cover. (I put it in correctly. The hinges are similar on the K2) After I put the K3 into this cover yesterday, my kindle started doing random reboots about every 10 or 15 minutes. It wasnt doing that before I got the cover. I called Amazon's CS and they sent me an update for the K3 that was supposed to fix it. 10 minutes after the update, it rebooted a couple of times. Then I took the kindle out of the cover because I'd suspected that was causing the problem. The kindle seemed to work pretty good for several hours. Think I saw it reboot maybe once, but that was right after taking it out of the cover. So, after several hours, I put the K3 back into the cover and turned the Kindle on to read. As soon as I turned it on, the screen went black. (baaaad sign!) and rebooted. It came back up, but seeing that screen go black and reboot immediately after putting the Kindle into the case did it for me. I called CS and am getting a new K3 sent to me and I'm sending this one back along with the cover. I'll never use the hinge system again. I'll just wait for Javoedge (another company that makes covers) to come out with their new line of covers for the K3. (I have two of their K2 covers, love them!) As for the workmanship of the brown cover I bought, it was nice...didnt really have a bad smell to it...it was more like New Car scent with a hint of leather smell. Didnt care for the rubber bandy thing that keeps the cover closed. The stitching on the cover was great, and it felt like it would protect the Kindle, except for whatever was causing the random rebooting. It looks good, but I'm so suspicious that it was causing problems with the reboots that I just refuse to use this thing.
