Thin and inconsistent paper
As noted by other recent reviewers, the quality issues of these filters become more critical when used in 2.0 systems. Though my system may be exacerbating the issues, I doubt anyone would think these high-quality filters. Others using similar components as mine will probably want to consider another product—I'll include my system details below. I'll also (try to) upload a visual product comparison of the three types I've tried so far.
These filters are thinner than all the others I've used. Worse, thickness varies wildly and the paper pulp is loosely bound, lacking a smooth finish as seen in most other filter paper. This makes the paper very weak, especially when wet. And at the higher water pressure the 2.0 system injects, this paper fails most of the time. Only with perfectly careful packing, a dry basket, and smaller than normal loads could I even approach a 25% success rate. The shape also seems to contribute to the problems. With an overly small base diameter and a shallower depth than other filters I've used, there's less support from the basket when under pressure. Only when I finally doubled up did I have reasonable success. However, this also doubles the filter cost to more than that of the best-performing filter (Brew N' Save). So, I will be using up the rest of this box by doubling-up... and will not be buying these again.
My system is a Keurig K425 (2.0) and I use these filters in a Perfect Pod EZ-Cup 2.0 basket. I've found that brewing on "strong" lessens the chance of bursting (due to the slower flow-rate) in every filter type. My standard brew is 10.6g (2TBS) of coffee. I've had the best success with Ekobrew Brew N' Save filters, reasonable success with the EZ-Cup filters, and this product took last place in my line-up.
