Lifestyles Safe-er-Grip 17" Bath Bar
I would give this ZERO stars if that were possible. This item would not stay in place no matter what I did. My parent needed this as the new apartment they moved into does not have built in safety bars in the bathroom for seniors and for people with disabilities. The tiles are 8x8 and smooth around the tub area. I thoroughly cleaned the tiles in the tub area to make sure there was no dirt, soap residue or anything else on the tiles. I even wiped them down with 90% denatured alcohol in the area that the suction cup attached to to make sure the area was clean. I also cleaned the suction cup with dawn dish liquid and rinsed it to assure no residue. The bars stayed on the tile for less than 30 minutes and fell off. I was concerned this might happen based on other reviews. I then used distilled water and dampened the suction cups and tried again. Same issue, they fell off within 30 minutes. The good on these is that when you initially put them on the tile they are locked on very well and could be used for balance support with no problem. Not staying in place for more than 30 minutes is an issue. I am going to return these as they are of no value. My parent does not have the strength in their hands nor the balance to be able to place these on the walls to assist them getting in and out of the tub area each morning. I have had other products for use in a shower/tub area for things such as suction based shelves and they stay up/on for weeks/months at a time that I used to use in my children's bathtub area. I am not sure what the issue is with this products ability to hold long term. I can not recommend these as they do not hold.
