I spent a lot of time reading reviews and thought this one was going to be the ONE. Admittedly, I had misgivings about buying a plastic pepper grinder, but I knew that the grinding mechanism was metal so I figured it would be fine. I literally had that thing full of pepper within five minutes after opening the package and I was really excited to see how well it would grind pepper. Much to my dismay, the grinding mechanism broke and pepper corns fell all over the kitchen counter and floor...I've never had a pepper grinder break in my hands and I was totally unprepared for that to happen...probably would have made a funny YouTube video. I examined the grinding mechanism and at first thought the female grinder was two pieces, but a closer look revealed that it was a one-piece component that broke in half. Bummer. This item cannot be exchanged so I decided to return it and go with a wooden Peugeot grinder instead. I'm not going to take any cheap shots at the product; I suspect that I simply received a defective unit. ##### EDIT ##### So, I got my Peugeots on a separate order and I like them...but here's the thing: Not only did I get refunded for the defective Magnum grinder I returned, the supplier actually SENT ME ANOTHER MAGNUM PEPPER GRINDER FOR FREE. The Magnum cranks out pepper like no-one's business, so it's ideal for the kitchen. I'm leaving the one star for visibility because this is a great story and the supplier deserves a ton of credit for making this right.
