They do not appear to completely block IR, but do reduce it by 45% and they reduce the visible light by a good 85% (As Tested with a UV,Vis,IR meter with photo below). Sadly, the glasses sample photos on Amazon are not the same as the unit shipped, mainly green lenses with a gold, highly reflective tint. They do cut 100% UV, but so do any polycarbonate lenses. If you need to cut glare and brightness in a grow room, these will work and do effectively block red and blue, however I personally would not trust them around IR lasers or IR measuring devices for total protection, as a professional IR testing meter shows some IR still gets through. Please test with your own IR meter if in doubt with what I have stated above.
