The material that this furniture piece is completely made of painted particle board... which is an extremely cheap material to use for a dresser/cabinet shelf. I highly recommend not to purchase this one piece. No doubt in my mind that the manufacturer designed this with very little knowledge of carpentry. As the finished product looks and feels of something from the dumpster, chips & scratches are found on all piece's and screws were missing. Poorly designed locations that the instructions tell you to place screws will only just destroy the material as you see in my pictures.
