I cannot stress enough to look elsewhere for a carrier for your electric bike! My husband and I purchased two bikes from Electric Bike Company, both are under the max weight limit for this carrier. On the EBC website they suggest a carrier that looks exactly like this one (HOLLYWOOD BIKE RACK) and it’s more expensive. Wish I would have gone with their recommendation! I would not have a very damaged bike now. Our first time using the Leader carrier the arm holding the bike on the outside came loose and very quickly migrated up, leaving nothing to hold the bike frame to the carrier. Fortunately the straps held the wheels so the bike didn’t completely fall off on the freeway. However, there was considerable damage to the bike as we had to get off to the side of the freeway with it dragging on the ground. Sad part is my husband mentioned as we were loading it that we should put moving straps on it as he didn’t feel it was enough holding the bikes down. After checking to make sure everything was sturdy and tightened down, I told him it wasn’t necessary as this carrier had such great reviews. Bad choice!! Note: there were 3 of us checking to make sure everything was tight and secure before we left!! This was NOT USER ERROR!!! Spend the extra money for a better bike carrier...especially if you have a bike you don’t have to get damaged/fall off. On the upside, one of the straps waited until we pulled off to the side of the freeway to break! Can’t imagine what would have happened had the bike fallen off completely on the freeway! Zero customer service as well! Reached out to Leader...never heard back from them, not a word!
