As soon as I got this delivered, I took it out of the box to test it out. I powered it on and I couldn't believe how loud it was. It was a high pitched squeal no matter what speed it was on, which there is zero difference in speed. My daughter was in the kitchen with me and she immediately covered her ears. I then read some reviews of the blade breaking off after very little use and that was enough for me to return it and not risk having a blade broken off in a smoothie for my kid and not realize it. I don't know if it actually blends well, but I'm not willing to find out with a blade in my soup.
