Good concept, disappointing execution
My son and his friend spent part of their rainy day afternoon assembling this geckobot. They were initially excited for the project but less so as the afternoon wore on. Some things to note are: 1) you need a super small screwdriver to install the batteries, not a regular small screwdriver but one for eyeglasses 2) There is very little leeway on the tubing, If you screw up, it's toast 3) The tubing is very difficult to put on. 4) It does NOT climb windows, walls or anything else. The suction cups are terrible and do not stick to anything.
It makes several different projects which is the only reason I kept it as 3 stars instead of dropping it down to 2. The geckobot and gun were by far the most interesting to the boys but both use the suction cups which were a fail.
I have revised this back down to a 2 star rating. Pieces pop off while it is operating, and it's not because they are not put in properly. It is so difficult getting the tubing on that no one has any interest in taking it apart to build anything else.
