I've had this model doorbell at two separate houses, and was a big champion and supporter at first. Recently however, I'm not a fan. The doorbell alerts and the Eufy app are an awful experience. The app is a constant barrage of ads, and worst of all I can hardly ever see a live feed of the doorbell. If I were to estimate, I'd say it works 25% of the time, at best. For context, my internet is no slouch consistently averaging 900 to 1100 MBs, and the doorbell is all but 20 ft or so from the router with no obstructions..so it's not an internet issue. The software on the doorbell also gets confused all the time. The other night I got a notification every one to two minutes that my car's motionless tire was setting off the sensor. I'm not expecting perfection, but it does this so often, you'll stop paying attention to notifications after awhile. It doesn't perform the basic function of a smart doorbell in my opinion. What's weird is this is a recent thing that has increasingly got worse over the last year or so. This leads me to the recent revelations of privacy and security concerns. I've read EuFy's official response, and honestly, I'm not buying it. Being able to access a doorbell's feed through VLC is an insane security flaw that any security engineer could have noticed (and I would bet money, many of them that work at eufy did notice). In addition, the fact that separate doorbells made by eufy can detect your face means despite their claims to only locally store you data, your facial identity is being stored on a server they use. I've gone a full 180 on this. Glaring security issues aside, it just doesn't work well and is a pain to get working with google's ecosystem in my experience (again...despite what eufy says). Don't buy this, it's not worth it.
