I have used sliders for year to move furniture. The hard part has always been to lift the furniture so you can put the sliders under the feet. So when I saw this tool on Amazon and the good reviews I bought it. I got it today . The first thing I noticed was that it was smaller than I expected. The lifter lip is a metal piece about 1 inch by 2 inches. I was unable to slide the lifter lip between the carpet and the bedroom dresser foot. This means that I have to lift the dresser (exactly what I don't want to do) in order to get the lifter in place. So I tried another method. I got a small piece of wood and put it in the gap between the dresser side and the carpet, slipped the lifter between the carpet and the wood and was able to easily lift the dresser and put the sliders in place. (My own sliders, which are larger and tougher.) This worked, but then I realized that I will need a different size block of wood for each piece of furniture. Which I am not going to do. Instead I am going to return this item tomorrow.
