"Yank and Crank" training at it's best.
The title of this training program should be, "How to bully your dog into submission". The theory of training is very outdated and abandoned by most current trainers. Basically you are using the physical correction of yanking on the plastic pinch collar harder and harder until the dog complies with your commands. Aside from this yanking he also recommends upper cutting the dog under the chin to make it learn the drop it command and to knee it in the chest to correct unwanted jumping. Or hitting the dog in the chest to teach it boundary training. This training is the equivalent of me trying to teach you to speak a foreign language and every time you mispronounce a word I will punch you. And I will continue to punch you harder and harder until you get it correct and only then will I stop hitting you. Is this way of training your dog effective? Yes and no. Yes, your dog will quickly respond to this method for no other reason than to stop being corrected for not obeying. And a big, "no" because these methods have the possibility of creating aggression in your dog. Mr. Sullivan is aware of this fact because his videos are laced with numerous warnings that state: "Following these methods may create aggression or lead to biting." There are far better more effective and humane training methods out there. Check out books by Paul Owen, Ian Dunbar, or Patricia B. McConnell
