Went to install a new light fixture and couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t work. Opened up the box and found this Zwave switch totally melted and burning hot. This really worries me as I have 75 in this house and another 25 or so in another house. These are the new design switches which I had issues with dimming and LED’s originally. Those issues were worked out by jasco, but now this discovery really has me worried. One thing that is concerning is I did not have a fixture connected to this switch. It was a newly remodeled bathroom, the switch was installed 3 months ago, and the end of the wire run was disconnected where the light fixture would be. If not having a fixture connected to these switches causes a major fire hazard, I think a recall or a investigation is necessary by UL.
