These pumps work fine, until they don't. The one I purchased in December 2016 would not start up at the beginning of the 2018 season, so I ordered another and then contacted the seller about a warranty repair. While the documentation that came with the pump states that "SHURflo warrants its aftermarket 2088 series portable water pumps to be free from material and workmanship defects under normal use and service for 2 years.........", when I contacted them they claim that this model is obsolete and is only warranted for one year. Since when does a warranty liability go away simply because the item is discontinued? I'll be going to Amazon to see if they can provide any relief. Just another piece of fine workmanship from south of the border.
