I purchased this slab for my husband for Christmas. We purchased a cook book and watched youtube videos before using the Salt Slab. My husband placed the slab in a cold oven and set the temperature at 140. Once the oven reach the set temperature he would wait 10 minutes then increase the temperature by 20 degrees and repeat process until he reached desired temperature of 425. Once the oven temperature reached 425 he opened the oven door and the slab exploded. Fortunately, my husband was wearing his glasses. Otherwise he would of had 425 degree shards of salt hit his eyes. My husband did notice air pockets in the slab. Not sure if all salt slabs have air pockets or ours was defective. A very scary experience for my husband and I will be cleaning salt fragments from my oven and kitchen for a very long time.
