★★☆☆☆
A good PC, with some caveats.
[This is a review for the Dell 5676 with an AMD 2700 and a RX580 video card] First off, there are some things which are incorrect on this page at the time I'm writing this: 1. There is NO USB C-Type ports anywhere on this computer! 2. There are four USB 3 Type-A ports on the back and 2 on the front. There are two Usb 2.0 ports on the front, 2 on the back. The missing USB type-C ports were a mystery to me, so I contacted Amazon. They contacted Dell. Dell never answered so I contacted them myself. They told me to look near the optical drive on the front of the PC. (PROTIP: this PC doesn't come with an optical drive) The USB-C info is stated under manufacturer info on the Amazon page and it's spelled out ON THE BOX that it has this feature. Enough ranting, lets get into this machine. Pros: + Ryzen 2700 performs admirably. + 16Gb of RAM up gradable to 32. + 1tb Seagate drive is speedy enough. + Gaming performance was good. + Apparently, Amazon upgraded the warranty. I had about a 3 year basic warranty when I received it. Looks like when they purchased it from Dell, they got a better deal. It started when Amazon bought it and went out until the middle of 2022. + 1080p gaming at 60fps? Just about everything. Cons: - RX 580 appears to be a rebranded RX 480. Maximum wattage was about 110w. This was probably done to save power due to the fact that Dell uses an anemic 460w power supply. If you want to upgrade a Power supply, be prepared to dremel the plastic chassis. (See chassis) - The PC chassis itself is really overdone. Most of what you see in the pictures is plastic covering a metal chassis. The rear fan and the PSU exhaust are partially covered by the plastic shroud. (See Amazon's rear pictures.) There is a 4 pin fan header if you want to add an intake fan although I'm not sure as to what size fan it is. - You'll hear people complain about the high fan noise. It's the RX 580 video card. Download the AMD software and increase the fan curve. [EDIT]: After further investigation, its the PSU and not the video card. The fan is facing down with no external air intake. There is about a 1/4 gap between the fan on the PSU and the chassis. This happens frequently after prolonged gaming sessions. I still recommend using software to adjust the fan curve on the RX580. It gets a little too hot for my tastes. This is a problematic unit. This IS a good PC. It just has some shortcomings which you should be aware of. Amazon offered to let me return it and that I should contact Dell. Dell was spectacularly useless and suggested I contact Amazon.
