I pulled the emergency ripcord at 48 percent — and it took four months to get that far! Every time I picked it up, I put it down three clicks later. The characters are exactly as you'd expect (young woman of marriageable age / rogue eligible bachelor / status-obsessed family). But the dialogue takes a page out of the Gilmore playbook: empty, rapid-fire exchanges masquerading as wit. It's boring.
