I used this powder faithfully for years but my heart sank when I logged on to amazon to buy another bag and noticed the label was completely different. This is almost never a good sign because it means something in the product has changed and UNFORTUNATELY this is the case with this once superior product. The first thing I noticed was the new powder is a lighter color and more fine like sand was mixed into it. Secondly I noticed I need to use more of the Triphala powder to have a cleansing effect. What turned me off the most and has made me swear off this product is the way it now acts when left alone. I have always let this Triphala mix sit for an extended period of time to have a greater effect and yes, I would sometimes forget about it for a day or a bit longer (which then led to me experimenting with the drink) but what amazed me about the old Banyan Triphala powder is that it would take quite a long time to go “stale” and would very rarely develop mold and it made me more secure putting this in my body and letting it go to work in my colon. Now this new Banyan Powder develops a stench and turns moldy and has a spoilt stench in less than half the time. On top of that, the leftover powder that doesn’t dissolve after a shorter brew tastes grittier, like there are tiny stones or grains which was not an issue before. In the light of all these changes, I will not be using this organic Triphala powder brand anymore and will probably stop using Triphala in general because it seems the powders are prone to having heavy metals. Use long term at your own risk.
