January, 2017 Bought brand new....So far, love it. A real breeze to set up and seems to work immediately, simply and seamlessly with my Samsung Galaxy. Only concern is durability of construction (it's lightweight) but this is something you keep packed away with your tripod, ram mounts, cam equip stuff etc. so it shouldn't get banged around on a car key fob everyday (which it's not really built for). Haven't field tested for distance but unless you hear back from me, it's five stars all the way. UPDATE 7/9/2018 UNIT KAPUT Completely stopped working. Only really used one time in early 2017 right after purchase for a special event (photo booth at festival). A year later (July 2018) pulled it our for another event. Nothing, no indicator light. Replaced batteries (tried a few brand new). Still nothing. Sad to say, had to reduce from 5 stars to just one.
