Cooks OK but Finish Lacks Durability.
Cooking wise this casserole is just fine. It browns and braises as it should. It's serviceable bargain alternative to the higher priced brands.
The matte finish stained on the first use and I can't get it clean. The cover finish also chipped in three places on its first use. My opinion is that there is a durability problem with the finish, as many reviewers have stated. It has a distressed, vintage look.
All in all, I'd pick a plain cast iron dutch oven over this one, or spend the money on a Staub or Le Creuset with a glossy finish.
