A Date with Fate
Oh wow! So wish I had read CatLover's review before I even started this book!! Yes, it's hilarious and I laughed out loud many times, but - and it's a HUGE BUT - I felt totally jerked around by the ending...make that the NON-ENDING!! And I got the book for free!! I'd be super mad if I'd paid for it! It does bog down with extraneous detail at times, so I got bored with all the side trips about 3/4 through, skipped to the end, and went WHAT??? So glad I didn't spend any more time on a book that cheats the reader of ANY kind of ending, much less no HEA!!! 2 stars for the humor - otherwise 1 for the rip-off ending! So: Dear Ms. Ellen, PLease understand that I am in awe of your talent and find your work immensely entertaining, but have a care for your audience, please! This whole "new" craze of taking one really good story and dragging it out over several books is not fair to the your readers (clearly I am NOT a fan!), and, when it's done with no warning and leaves us hanging, it's a slap in the face to those who invest time, and/or money, in your books!! Please fix this ASAP by, at the very least, finishing Anabel's story for free; and then continuing with the stories of the other characters in subsequent books!! But let each book be a stand alone! THEN you will develop a loyal following for your work. As it stands now, I - and probably many others - will shy away from your writing because I cannot trust you to deliver a satisfying book! I'll be checking periodically to see if you finish Anabel's tale, but I will NOT be investing in any future stories until that is done! I really do hope you'll take this as constructive criticism from an avid reader!
