I have a set of wire-cutters that splits pills better than this! The pills that I need to cut are tiny- smaller around than a pencil eraser- and this cutter just shattered them. I have been successfully splitting these pills for over a decade with a really cheap pill splitter that I got from my doctors office, so I figured that this, more expensive one would work just fine. It doesn't. The razor is shallow, and doesn't fully penetrate the pill, which causes the pill to shatter, rather than split. Accessing the pill after splitting is very difficult as well, due to the fact that there is a locking mechanism in the handle so that the splitter can be used to store pills after splitting. When you push the handle down to split the pill, the lock engages and it is difficult to pull open, especially without sending shards of your pill around the room! This product is not only a waste of money, it causes the user to waste their medication, which is unacceptable.
