So disappointing
It pains me to write this review. I LOVED The Life Changing Art of Tidying, (I highly recommend it) and it is life changing. The only thing I thought that was missing from that book were illustrations or pictures. I was fascinated by the descriptions of Japanese cupboards or wardrobes and wondered how everything looked. How would a western closet look? A home office? Folding and containers were also elusive.
So imagine my delight when I heard about Spark Joy: An Illustrated Master Class on the Art of Organizing and Tidying Up. Just what I was looking for! Oh Joy!
Or not. The illustrations, and I use the term loosely, are juvenile to the point of baby-book-ish. I was counting on Ms Kondo's professionalism and perfectionism to show accurate "how-to"s and specific examples of how calming and stress reducing an organized space can be.
I gave the book 2 stars because it did have some additional information in it. But if you are looking for concrete examples and how-tos of the KonMari method, I recommend any of the many You Tube videos.
