Massively overstated ink capacity.
The quoted capacity of 165 pages is way, way, WAY over-stated. Both the black and color versions.
I'm using with my new HP Envy 5660 printer & I am bleeding ink. I just repurchased AGAIN, but this time I'm tying the $40+ XL offering which claims 400 pages.
The printer is okay, but I will replace if the ravenous ink consumption continues. My prior Canon printer had perhaps 5 times the ink duration over this HP.
I'm cautiously skeptical that HP has figured out that long term profit potential is higher if you sell the printer cheap and cash in on high consumption print cartridges. The printer itself was purchased on sale on Amazon for $65. Buying a high capacity black and high capacity color cartridge is costing me $85 on Amazon.
The jury is out for me on whether I'm getting hosed or not on this venture. Your long term print costs don't make any sense with HP if you do a regular level cartridge each month with only home light print practices for both black and color.
Makes more sense to toss the printer & buy another brand if they are purposely milking us on the ink.
