We bought a Tivo Bolt OTA and set it up on 6/2/2019. We intended to have it for several years until a newer and better model was release. Therefore, we bought the All In channel guide for $267 (as opposed to paying $7.50/month). 14 months and 4 days later, the Tivo had catastrophic failure. My husband’s a software whiz, but it didn’t matter. Our Tivo was dead. We liked the interaction, so we bought a new one for $149 and called Customer Service to transfer our $267 All In channel guide to the new box. They refused. They offered to sell us a refurbished unit for $200 and then they would transfer the channel guide. If you’ve read any reviews about the refurb’ed systems, you know they tend to be garbage very quickly. Customer Service, based in India was barely understandable and they absolutely refused to do anything for us despite the fact the Tivo box had failed prematurely. To add insult to injury, the hard drive is encrypted so you can’t even transfer your saved shows to a flash drive. Oh no. Instead, they want to sell you a special device that will allow you to access those shows. In our opinion, Tivo has exceptionally greedy management, extremely poor quality and hideous customer service. We will NOT ever buy Tivo again.
