Comfy mocs with a few little issues...
Some of the things I like about these moccasins is that the shoelace tie stays tied (have had some with leather or vinyl ties that were forever coming undone). I also like the soles, the rubber comes up the side a bit so I can run outside even if the ground is wet. I think they're really comfortable, but there is no arch support. I am a perfect 9.5 medium, so I ordered down to size 9 and they fit well, probably because they're made kind of wide. They're very warm, and since the sheepskin will wick moisture, you can wear them without socks and your feet won't sweat. Now a few things I don't like. I wore them for 1 hour and already there was about a 5" piece of thread hanging out of the area where the rubber sole is sewn onto the suede. I had to triple-knot it and trim it off so it didn't continue to unravel. The other problem I see is that the sheepskin comes out in little pieces. There are little balls of it all over my house. I have a pair of Emu boots that are also sheepskin, and actually cost less than these slippers, and it seems like the fur on the Emus is attached to the skin. It doesn't come out. But these are almost like they took the fur and just glued it into the footbed or something. For this reason I don't foresee these lasting more than a season. The lining will be all gone. Which is disappointing because if I wanted a pair of slippers for one winter, I would have just bought a $9 pair. Was hoping to get 2-3 years out of them. Well see, but I can already see a good deterioration of the wool lining, and I've only worn them for a week. Update 2/1/13: It's been a few months and these slippers are ready for the garbage can. I changed my rating to 1 star because I can't believe for what I paid for these, they did not last the winter. The glued-in 'wool' lining has fallen out in little clumps and also flattened so badly that the shoes are not even warm any more. I have to wear socks with them to keep my feet warm. Also the wool is totally gone on the heel portions, revealing just plain smooth rubber where my heels rest. I can't believe it, really. What a waste of money. I will never buy another Bearpaw product again. I've been wearing my Emu's for 3 years now and the wool is still all there and fluffy. These Bearpaws are going in the trash. I would recommend to anyone to look at Emu slippers and also Tamaracs.
