I have not felt so much hate for a brand for a long time. Frankly, I used to love this product, because my kitten seemed to be completely okay with using it. Until one day I couldn't get the solution in time (UPS lost the package). Now I have to deal with cat sewage and the corresponding smell filling my house until a replacement package can be sent, all because CatGenie has programmed this to not run whatsoever without their non-refillable cleaning solution cartridges. I previously had no idea this thing won't function at all unless it has a solution cartridge in. I had always changed out the solution when it was time, and never had a problem. Also I assumed it wasn't designed by the scum of mankind. There is no conceivable reason to force people to use solution for every single wash, other than evil business models. The unit functions just fine without solution, as discovered by the CartridgeGenie team. To anyone considering this box, I actually can say I recommend it. Provided: Your cat is still young (older cats seem too jaded to try it), you order an arduino board at the same time, and you read "Resetting a SaniSolution Cartridge: 6 Steps" on instructables. To anyone from CatGenie, just so you know, I was previously a loyal customer that bought your cartridges because it was convenient. Now that I know you're forcing me to use your landfill packing for no good reason other than for you to make more money, I'm going to tell everyone I know with a CatGenie to read this same instructable. Shame on you.
