A little glowing replica of the moon in my room. The memory of the initial joy of unboxing this once magical lamp is simply that, a memory. Tonight I find myself ultimately frustrated with this menace of a decoration as it startled me out of my sleep for, what is this, the 20th time now? You see, this little moon used to do what it was intended to do: float ever so silently over the faux wood base while I rest. 2 months ago the base started to make a low frequency sound that is somewhere between a buzz and a whir. The sound isn't completely intolerable. It's just unfairly annoying. Coincidentally, it was 2 months ago that the moon started falling into the base for, seemingly, no reason at all. When it does that it produces a loud bang that is very startling, especially when I'm sleeping since I use this as decorative lamp on my nightstand. These faults only made this lamp worse since before that the touch sensitive area on the base that activates and cycles the lamp on/off lost its sensitivity. At unboxing I could barely touch the target area and it would activate the lamp. After about a month or two the target touch area began to require a full pressure press to activate the lamp. As of recent I am lucky if I can turn the lamp on or off when I want to. Most of the time I can only turn the light off by pulling the moon away from floating over the base and then getting it to glow by floating it over the base again. This thing is no longer a lamp. Its a headache maker. I purchased this lamp in July of 2020. So after 5 months this $99 decoration has completely lost its value and function. I thought this lamp was so cool when I received it and I only wished that it were 25%-50% larger. Now I just wish that I had spent that $99 a different way. I would not recommend this item to anyone. It's disappointing.
