Wasn't digging his writing style even before it came to the deal breaker. His analogies and attempts at 'painting a picture' just didn't hit with me. They were bland and seemed like filler, but that could just be me. Thought the dialogue and interactions were quite nice though. The teenager swears, the adult doesn't know everything. But that's about the only thing I liked, along with the premise. The deal breaker? God damn 'white woke culture'. Constantly throughout you get beaten with a clear political ideology. It's tiring and eventually insulting. I can take an obvious ideologically possessed author at times, as long as it's not frequent and the writing is engaging. This book had neither going for it.
