FilterQueen is very well known for thier shady sales practices selling overpriced products. The filters on this machine are nice, and perform as stated, but you can get the same thing from the competitor for a lot less. Our sales associate tried to sell us one for $1,399, then dropped the price to $999.99 with push back. Sales associate kept reminding us this unit filters particles dow to 0.01 microns, which is better than most HEPA filters (the sales associate was correct on this point), BUT the Honeywell Proffessional Series Model HPA600B (retails for $749.99 - you can find them for less) does the same exact thing filtering down to 0.01 microns for less money. Another company, IQAir, makes an even better unit (IQAir Health Pro Plus) which filters 0.003 microns (notice the exta zero in there - the IQAir unit does a FAR better job than the filterqueen and/or the honeywell) and the IQAir retails for $899.99 (they even have smaller units that sell for less)!!!! You can purchase a top of the line unit, that does a better job than the FilterQueen Defender for LESS MONEY, and you wont have to deal with the shady sales practices of FilterQueen.
