Battery life is much improved, unless you forget to turn off WiFi, then it goes down like pouring p* out of a boot. The software has some notable improvements and some truly heinous (firing-offense) defects. Like the way it flashes the display every 10 seconds while paging through My Library. HEY! BABIES! FIX THIS STUPID MESS! But, the buttons still intermittently give the same feedback as a normal page advance but do nothing... I hear the click and feel the click and my eye goes back to the top of the page to find... WHAT THE EFF because continuity is utterly destroyed trying to connect the narrative from the bottom of the page back the text from THE TOP OF THE SAME PAGE. AND THIS PROBLEM WAS REPORTED ON THE PRIOR VERSION AND NOT FIXED. And, "every once in a while" I flip it over and it decides "not interested". The text won't flip. And it won't flip if I make an exaggerated roll-over-and-back motion over and over again. And it won't flip if I shake it. The sensor is just stuck or the software just doesn't care. I have to turn the POS OFF and flip it. AND THIS PROBLEM WAS REPORTED ON THE PRIOR VERSION AND NOT FIXED. This WOULD BE the best reader Amazon has ever made. Except they did not fix the hardware problems from the last version and added ugly new software bugs. As it is: it is an expensive way to make yourself really really angry. Amazon has turned "support" into a wall and no longer responds effectively to customer input. The result is failed products like this. PS. They will try to cheat you on the trade-in program. Be prepared to tell them you are going to file charges when they throw your returned items away and deny they ever got them and charge back any credits, despite tracking data! And KEEP THE TRACKING DATA because Amazon will delete it! PPS This PATHETIC WEB PAGE will not let me type 'file' in the text above without inserting a dot after it! FIRE YOUR WEB PROGRAMMERS AMAZON! THEY ARE MORONS! PPPS The store app on this model will try to steal from you ! Browse in the store to a Kindle book YOU ALREADY OWN and it will OFFER TO SELL IT TO YOU AGAIN! Somebody at Amazon better be thinking about how they look in orange!
