It will turn on, inflate, etc, however when it's time to show your reading, it doesn't show a number, it just shows all of the buttons/symbols on the screen. We've tried it on multiple people, taking out batteries, etc, and it just simply does not work. Also, if you happen to have an irregular heartbeat ( I do, but I'm aware of it and it's harmless) you will not get a readout, it only says "IHB" over and over and over, so anyone with a condition such as mine, this will not tell you your BO. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more and get a different one.
