I have an unhealthy obsession with Pyrex, so it pains me a little to write this review for a product I so much wanted to like. First, the other reviewer who said the lid is loose, is right (unless we both got duds). It felt very loose to me as soon as I got the product. It still felt loose after first wash in the dishwasher. When I packed the dish with a vegetable casserole in cheese sauce, I made sure to secure the lid as tightly as I could before it went in the bag. At my destination, even though I had been careful the whole time not to shake the bag, I found the cheese sauce had leaked out of the dish and stained the bag. Second, it would not be at all difficult for the manufacturers to make a bag that was machine washable (especially if they're going to make a lid that is loose). For the sake of the experiment (and since I had already given up on this system), I washed my now-cheesy bag in the washer, just to see what happens. It survived a hot wash just fine, and an air dry, except for the flat panel at the bottom of the bag. I slit this part open to see what was lumpy and balled up in there. It was a piece of cardboard that had disintegrated in the wash. The thin layer of foam had survived unscathed. So, if the cardboard padding in this section was replaced with something a little more substantial, this bag could be machine-washed. This system is a great idea, and hopefully, these two glitches will be addressed in the next incarnation of this product.
