Terrible execution by Bose, unexpected and dissapointing
I have been buying Bose headphones for several years now. Last year I bought Bose wireless soundsport and I was looking for a replacement. Pros: 1. Battery Case 2. Audio is on par with SoundSport wireless. Audio has a lot of bass but to me this is considered good as I use them a lot while training. Cons: 1. Audio switches to the right bud when I make a call. I can't even describe how inconvenient and weird this is. Moreover, if you have both buds in your pocket and you get a call and you don't pull out the right one then you can't talk to the other person. When the phone rings the ringtone is heard only to that specific bud on the right. 2. There is horrible audio lip sync delay with every video of at least a second. Youtube or any show on Netflix I tried has this issue. 3. Audio will go out of sync from the left to the right bud sometimes momentarily. 4. Touch controls are so difficult to use If you only want to listen to music with a headset that costs $250 plus tax that has the same audio quality as the Soundsport (not free) just because you find the cable annoying then it delivers. I'm a big fun of Bose but this time I'm very disappointed. By trying out Bose Free (best audio from all the free ones, mono audio on calls, terrible lip sync delay video issues), B&O (audio volume is just low while bass is low too), IconX 2018 (read above) I ended up returning all of them and buying once more the Bose SoundSport. My reasons for buying those ones are the following: Audio is just impressive comparable to any free headphone brand, you just have to use them side by side and it feels like a huge upgrade ( Bose Free have excellent audio quality for sports too, I train a lot so I need that kick), I can rest them on top of my shoulders when I need to interact with people, no issues syncing them with my Macbook pro and I love using them for conference calls, watching movies (of course as I used to own them the build quality isn't great and I recommend some kind of insurance but I can live with that). If Bose manages to fix the audio lip sync delay and somehow their engineers manage to do the unbelievable and switch audio calls from mono to stereo then these are just perfect (of course to anyone that likes the aesthetics but thats a different subject).
