Once upon a time I would buy a Sunbeam Electric Blanket every 3 or 4 years, but had come to terms with having to buy one every year - hoping it made it through one winter. I received my 2018 blanket yesterday. I put it on my bed, got it all attached and ready to go ... The light worked on the controller, the blanket warms (though not nearly as warm on "6" as they used to be) ... Good enough ! Went to bed last night - First night with the blanket - and after 1 hour it turned off ... Well, not "off" but the controller light was flashing (no heat in the blanket now). I pushed the button .. It kept flashing ... Now, I'm older - and need that blanket - Between rebuilt joints and arthritis - Cold Sheets Are Not Fun. I unplugged the blanket, - plugged it back in - and it worked. I thought "Okay, maybe I just didn't have it plugged in securely" ... An hour later? Exact same thing... NOW WHAT? I can send it back to Amazon - This will take a week at best (likely longer) - and in the meantime .. I'm aching ALL night due to my medical conditions. Do I just unplug and replug several times during the night (and risk a short causing a fire)? Do I just order another one and "turn the other cheek" so to speak? Does anyone know of a better blanket? I've looked, read hundreds of reviews on many models ... my budget can't stretch enough to try the SAME game with MORE cash..... Old and Cold ... Thanks Sunbeam ...
