I'm sure most of these units are fine and I was one of the unlucky few. However upon receiving this quadcopter I unpacked, put batteries in the controller, turned it on to see the display turn on as expected, etc, etc.. Then I turned the controller off and went to read the instructions. Came back a few minutes later and noticed the back of the controller was unusually hot. I took the battery cover off and the batteries were blistering and bursting. Just for fun (and to rule out a defective battery) I put another set of batteries in the controller while it was off the entire time and took the temp with an IR thermometer about 90 seconds later. The ambient temp was about 60F and the surface of the batteries was 120F. Obviously that set of batteries was about to suffer the same fate as the first.
