SO I FIGURED OUT THE SECRET TO THIS PRINTER. SOMETIMES THE SHUTTER DOESN'T OPEN WHEN YOU PUSH THE SHUTTER BUTTON. If you are getting black photos, this is 100 percent the reason why. What I figured out is that you have to listen verrrry closely for the shutter. What I would do is first, before putting any film in the printer, set it up as if you're going to print a photo, but don't put your phone on top. Instead, turn on the flashlight on your phone, and point it at the shutter and push the shutter button a bunch of times, looking for the shutter to actually open (I promise you can see it). ALSO IT SOUNDS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WHEN THE SHUTTER OPENS COMPARED TO WHEN IT DOESN'T OPEN. BE COMPLETELY FAMILIAR WITH THAT SOUND. So now, when you're actually trying to print a photo, DO NOT ROLL THE PRINT OUT UNLESS YOU HEAR THE SHUTTER SOUND FIRST (so keep pushing the shutter button). I am not sure if this is what the manufacturer intended, but it is how it is. Maybe the ones that you have to do this are defective? If so. Kii pix, could you please consider sending me a new one? Because this is pretty dumb. The reason I think my printer is defective is because I have been watching videos of other people using this printer, and when they hit the shutter button it makes a MUCH LOUDER SOUND than my shutter button.
