Please, Please, Do Not Buy This Cable
Digital signals can be transmitted complete and without error. While researching this product you will find arguments that distortion and other effects can change the information transmitted digitally from one point to another. This is true, but, in general it is not necessary to solve this problem with expensive cables. Mathematical techniques such as error correction encoding allow for lossless transmission of data even if a significant number of bits are corrupted. This is the same technique that allows your CDs to play even when they are covered in fingerprints and scratches. HDMI uses error correction encoding when sending information between devices, which means even if your $5 cable is allowing distortion or electromagnetic interference to change the value of some bits, your TV or other output device will be able to reconstruct the image without error except in extreme cases when too many bits are simultaneously corrupted. Any cable that seems sturdy enough not to break after repeated use, will be sufficient for even the most discerning users, especially if you keep the cable lengths relatively short. In the future look for protocols that use additional technologies such as buffering and retransmission, at that point, you will never need to buy an expensive digital cable again. Even if you are sending your data miles away during an electrical storm. =)
