Poor quality product
Bought the pro-50 probiotics because it claims that it contains 50 billion organisms, 13 probiotic strains per serve, specifically I'm also impressed by all those good reviews. I thought that I could have one cap per day for 25 billion organisms, which is still 2.5 times more than the other brands containing 10 billion probiotics, so one bottle could last 2 months, which is not bad at all for the price. My husband and I both tried it. My husband even took two caps per day following the instructions (I forgot telling him one cap per day if he wanted to try.) After a week or so, we both didn't feel anything. Then I began to doubt if there is really bacteria alive in the bottle. I decided to do the making yogurt testing. I have a yogurt machine; however, when I needed to use it, I found it had been broken. That's not a problem, I could use the oven with oven light on. I did this before. The temperature inside could be over 90F after some time. I bought pasteurized organic milk. I have 3 different brands of probiotics at home including vitamin bounty pro-50. One brand contains 10 billion 10 strains, another one has 10 billion one strain. My containers are 8oz cups but I didn't put milk full so it's about 6 to 7Oz of milk each cup. I mixed the milk with powder of the probiotics, one cap each, so Pro-50 is 2.5 times more bacteria than other two brands and should turn to yogurt even faster theoretically. I put those cups with lids and notes in a container and then put it into the oven with light on inside. After 24 hours, one had pretty good yogurt smell; one had nothing changed; Pro-50 had a bad smell like it was spoilt. I waited another 20 hours since the temperature inside of oven may not high enough. The final result is: the brand with 10 strains turned soft solid with very good yogurt smell; the one with one strain still had no change, nor had bad smell; vitamin bounty pro-50 was totally spoilt with about half inch watery liquid on the top of the cup and the white solid at the bottom, smelled really bad. Based on my understanding, when good bacteria become dominant in the milk, the bad bacteria will be hard to grow, so the milk will not be easily turned bad for a certain of time. I'm so disappointed with the result, not just the product, but also the amazon reviews. At last, I did more research online and found an independent supplements testing website Labdoor. Its test result for vitamin bounty Pro-25 shows it only contains 1 billion CFUs, 96% less viable bacteria than claimed on its label.
