DO NOT BUY. ----------- UPDATE: The seller has been harassing me to delete this review for months. I've asked them to change the description of the product to specifically state that it is for melting water-based liquids, and not wax-based liquids. Instead, they continue to email, and are offering me money to delete this. Buyer be warned. Please read my comments below before purchasing this device. ------------ To start, this is a repurposed percolator. The sticker on the machine specifically says to use with liquids. Wax ≠ water. Do yourself a favor and spend $20 more on a modified Presto deep fryer with a pour spout (DIY and other brands). Deep fryers are made to melt oil-based items (like wax). This machine is made to keep your coffee and apple cider warm. I work with a high melt wax, but the temperature dial is 20ºC above the melt point of my wax. My deep fryer ran circles around this - I finished FOUR batches of candles using the deep fryer machine by the time the wax even melted in this. The wax never did get hot enough to pour through the spout. I had to pour the entire lot out the top, into my modified deep fryer, and it still had not reached the temperature at which I add FO. This does not work as advertised. I've processed a return.
