PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BUYING CAT WATER!!!
This product is a complete SCAM! Please read this review in it's entirety before deciding if you should purchase this product or not. First, this product is completely overpriced. NO ONE should pay this much for water. Especially for their pets. Period. Second, this product claims that since the pH of natural distilled water is between 5.4 and 5.7, it is therefore "too acidic" for your cats to drink. They also claim that the ideal pH of cat urine is between 6.2 and 6.4, and so, going by this theory, if your cat drinks normal distilled water that is below this pH level (acidic), then your cat's urine will also be too acidic, and your cat can become susceptible to getting oxalate crystals in their bladder. As a solution to this theory, this products adds both Ozone and Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) into their distilled water, as a way to alkalize the water and boost the pH so that the water is less acidic and "perfectly" matches the pH range of normal cat urine. This theory could not be more WRONG and here is why... First off, drinking distilled water is NOT under any circumstance going to make your pets bloodstream more acidic. After the distilled water has been mixed with the incredibly strong acid in your pets stomach, and then mixed with the alkalising effect of the bicarbonate (a natural byproduct of the body's metabolism), any latent acidity that might have existed in the distilled water will have been completely wiped out. This is all to say, your pets body is designed to adjust to its optimal pH balance no matter what it ingests. Distilled water being slightly acidic is NOT a problem. Giving your pet distilled water is essentially the purest water you can give them -- when they ingest the water it simply mixes with the food in their stomachs. The mixture that eventually reaches the point of absorption is no longer distilled water but a mineral-rich slurry of nutritional building-blocks that will naturally be optimized to their normal pH. What is potentially dangerous about this product is the additives. Your pets do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, need these alkaline additives. Alkalis are toxic to pets!!! Eating or drinking sodium hydroxide can cause severe burns and immediate vomiting, nausea, diarrhea or chest and stomach pain IN HUMANS -- so imagine what is can do to your fur babies. Ozone unfortunately is also a toxic substance and should NEVER be used around pets or humans. This is all to say, giving your pets distilled water ON IT'S OWN is the best and purest water you can give them! This product is correct that mineral water is not good for your pets, but it totally missed the mark when it claims that the water your pets ingest actually has the power to change your pets urine pH. That is ridiculous and completely false. If you want to do your pets the ultimate favor, please either buy them natural distilled water (you can get an entire gallon at the grocery store for 99 cents, another reason this product is total bullshit when it comes to the price), or buy a distilled water machine that can turn your tap water into distilled water that is safe for drinking. Do NOT spend 10x on the price on distilled water with added toxins. I promise you it is not worth it!
