STOP - Get the better version (also by Sterilite)
There is a better choice. This model is flimsier and doesn't lock in when stacked side-to-side (e.g. when using them to create a bookshelf). If you just need crates that will hold file folders and stack+lock top-to-bottom, these are fine, but there is a nicer / more-expensive version that will ALSO stack+lock end-to-end. Search on here for "Sterilite 16939006 File Crate" and you'll see it. The main way to tell the difference is the sides. The sturdier all-way-locking has circles cut out of the side, little half-rectangles at each corner that look like feed scoops (these are what lock in on the sides, opposing corners are slightly smaller/larger to fit into each other), and a little more plastic. This version contains less plastic and is more of a grid pattern. A 6-pack of the good ones as of this writing was only ten bucks more ($50.00) so I'd advise going with them. I've used the good version for years to hold books, legal papers, file folders, just about everything and they are strong enough to last decades. These? Still decent but not as good when considering there's a better option for a few bucks more.
