My golden retriever hates having his feet touched, so trying to do anything to them is a nightmare. He refuses to have his nails clipped, so they are always way too long. I tried another grinder before, but he wouldn't have it. I was skeptical about this one since it is so small, but it worked great even with his big nails. They fit in the hole on the guard just fine. The best part is that he actually enjoyed having his nails ground down. He fell asleep! The noise is minimal and is mostly just from the actual grinding. The unit came fully charged and was still going strong when I was done an hour later (yes, his nails were VERY long). It does make a mess if you are doing a large dog's nails, but that's a small price to pay since this actually works. 7/4/20: Unfortunately I'm reducing my 5-star review to 1. The grinder would not hold a charge after the first use. I started using it while plugged in to the charger and that worked, but it was never as powerful as it was at first. After the second use the grinding stone was so dull it did nothing, so at this point it is going in the trash. Too bad because it was great at first.
