Too Hot to Handle!
Where do I begin? I really hoped to replace my Cuisinart oven with one that would also air fry but the drawbacks exceeded the benefits. I had the TOB-260 Cuisinart Oven and was very pleased with almost everything about it but wanted the air fry option so I elected to try the new TOA-60.
I originally purchased the first one from Amazon so where I would get it was obvious plus they had ,by far ,the best price.
The oven itself is considerably smaller than my TOB-260 so when they say you can bake a 12" pizza the crust will touch all the side walls. But the worst fault was yet to be found.
I had seen the reviews stating the oven temperature was hot and not well controlled but the reality was the oven ran 50 to 75 degrees hotter than the selected temperature! Burning things was very easy to do and you would have to carefully watch anything in it to prevent it. Add to this the fact that the temperature behind the unit reached as high as 250 degrees measured 1 inch from the vent at the back. It was hot enough to discolor and begin to melt our laminate back splash when more than 2 inches away. I am not sure how this unit can be safely marketed in the US with these types of flaws. (See attached photos)
A note in the instruction book states"do not operate under wall cabinets" so I am not sure how many options you may have in your kitchen that would allow this to be a counter top appliance. It also says "move the oven 2 to 4 inches away from wall or any objects on the counter top"
I would not recommend this to any household with children. I am returning this in the hope that some manufacturer will make a better and safer one in the future.
